Family

Before I was born, my parents made a friend and she had two young girls. Her husband had just left her for the women down the street. The mother was broken. She really need some help with these girls, and her mother lived in Florida. So my parents befriended her and they became very close.
While growing up, we were always with this family. We went on vacations, spent holidays together, and they even baby-sat us for free. We were as happy as the Brady Bunch. They were so much fun to be with. They were like my "older sisters" and that's what I called them.
Today, they are still very much part of my families life. One of the sisters got married, and I was in her wedding. When her two children were born, I was there. I now baby-sit her kids for free.

Sara,
I think this is a great idea for your paper! The example you did was great! Another suggestion you could use would be animals? Are they considered family, even though they aren't blood? I was just thinking about it after I read your blog. :)

That is really sweet to hear that you guys are still close. When I was growing up my mom and dad took in 4 foster kids at different times and it made me thankful for the family I have. I still talk to one of them, but the rest I do not know whatever happened to them and I wish I did. Family is such a great thing and for the people who do not have that makes me feel so thankful. It is a great way to start your paper. I did not know we could use personal things that happened to us.
