The Sound of Music

This is the story about a very outgoing and adventurous nun, that is living in a nunnery, but its not working out too good for her there. So the Reverend Mother at the nunnery sends her off to be a governess to a family of very rambunctious children. Seven rambunctious children to be exact. Their mother has died and they are just trying to get their father's attention. Through singing and dancing, Maria and the children become great friends.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. Musicals are my favorite type of movie and this one is just wonderful. All the songs are catchy and well put together. The storyline is amazing and always keeps my attention. I guess some people could say that its corny, because it definitely is a "chick flick", and very long. There is even an intermission. So it tends to go on for awhile, but it still is an amazing movie. Julie Andrews does a wonderful job as Maria.

English Writing #3

Personal Testimony:

I absolutely love Febreze! It is one of my favorite products. I am actually rather obsessed with it and try to use it as much as possible. I can tell that from personal experience, Febreze really does make your house smell a lot better. I love to use it right after I sweep my room because I feel it brings out the best in it. I have also used it in my car a lot, especially during volleyball season. I would often leave my sweaty shoes and knee pads in my car overnight and my car would smell terrible the next day. Febreze is my hero!

Counter Aurgument:

Its hard for me to think about people that don't like Febreze, but I know that they are out there. It could be that possibly those people are allergic to it. That would be terrible to have your throat sweel up and your skin break out in hives everytime you smelled it. In that case I will accept the fact that they don't like Febreze and that they don't think it is as wonderful as I do.

Essay 3

When I read about this next essay, I wasn't sure what I was going to do it over. The more I thought about it, the more I decided that I should do something that I love. One thing in life that I love is Febreze. I know that sounds weird but I am obsessed and I found this funny febreze commercial. In this commercial a women does exactly what I do with febreze, so I thought it would be perfect.

Family

Before I was born, my parents made a friend and she had two young girls. Her husband had just left her for the women down the street. The mother was broken. She really need some help with these girls, and her mother lived in Florida. So my parents befriended her and they became very close.
While growing up, we were always with this family. We went on vacations, spent holidays together, and they even baby-sat us for free. We were as happy as the Brady Bunch. They were so much fun to be with. They were like my "older sisters" and that's what I called them.
Today, they are still very much part of my families life. One of the sisters got married, and I was in her wedding. When her two children were born, I was there. I now baby-sit her kids for free.

Animal Farm

For this post we were to read an except from the book Animal Farm. I had to read this book in the 9th grade so it brought back some memories. I remember thinking how strange this book was. I still agree. This book is really strange, but it this scene that pig really gets the other animals going. He knows how they feel about life and he uses that. He makes it seem that without man, life will be better. If I remember correctly though, life gets worse. That main pig dies and another one is in charge and he breaks all the rules that the first pig put in. He broke rules like acting like a human, walking on two feet, and sleeping in beds.
In the end, the animals should of kept things the way they were. But that pig really got them thinking and eventually they took action. He did a great job persuading them.

The Semicolon

For our next English project, we are working in groups. My group was assigned the semicolon. Very exciting. I personally don't like working in groups because sometimes it seems harder then if I just did it myself. This time, I really like my group, so that seems to help. We all get along and they are all really nice. Everyone helps give ideas and they are all very creative. I think this project will turn out just fine.

I Miss Her

For our English reading I chose to talk about the "A Softer World" pictures. Some of these stories I found very odd and didn't understand. Then I decided that I was trying too hard and just needed to think about what I think it means, and not worry so much about what the author was trying to say. What was I getting out of it?

So I chose to talk about one called "I Miss Her".I found this one to be extremely sad. It seems that the boys sister is dead and he was dreaming that she was still alive. Or it could even be that the sister is far away and the boy doesn't ever get to see her. Either way, its still sad. One option is more devastating than the other, but either scenario is very sad to me.
